Organizational Frenzy
I have found the ultimate motivation for finally getting us totally unpacked and hopefully, successfully organized in our little apartment. My mother-in-law arrives to spend the holidays with us in nine days and she will need a place to sleep, eat and generally function amdist the chaos of our lives. A fellow homeschooler has supplied me with a bevy of ideas to help and I am grateful for her encouragment to think outside the box, as we use to say in the military. Why does the largest room in the apartment have to be the master bedroom since it is barely used except by my husband and occassionally me to sleep for a few precious hours a night? Is there any good reason that room could not be the playroom and classroom? We couldn’t think of one, so we have moved the furniture around and are finishing up arranging the new classroom today. The smallest bedroom has become the master and the medium bedroom continues to serve as the children’s shared bedroom. We have also turned the dining alcove into a television nook and created a large open space in the living room where the table, the computer desk and our Yuletide tree now reside in much less cramped quarters. I am hopeful that once we find a place for everything in this new set-up and everything has its place, we will have brought order to the current mess and will be prepared to spend a pleasant holiday with three adults and three children in about 1200 square feet of celebratory space.
